In 2010 a gap in the market was spotted by full time mum Jaime O´Connor from Halifax, West Yorkshire, when she had the ingenious idea of developing an 'oven door shield'.

Whilst caring for her two young children and helping run her partner Dale's business, Jaime came up with a simple but effective solution that prevented splashes of fat staining the inside of oven doors, thus reducing further oven preventative maintenance for today’s busy family lifestyles. Jaime began to think about the problem after her husband, who services and cleans Aga ovens professionally, regularly mentioned that his clients wanted to know how they could keep their oven doors clean and prevent the need for outside help.

So after months of planning and plentiful late nights working through a plausible solution 'The Oven Door Shield' was created with The AGA Cooker being the main source of inspiration. The Aga Oven Door Shield was an overnight success and the product range quickly expanded with the initial launch of the premium Oven Door Shield.

The Oven Door Shield remains transparent so still allows visibility of cooking through any conventional glass oven door, it is suitable for all 50 and 60cm single and double ovens, and in addition can be used for all range-cookers.

In 2011 Jaime secured her first major retailer contract which was closely followed by further blue chip contracts being won, proving the product to be a unanimous practical and cost effective success. "Jaime says 'The Oven Door Shield is a solution to a problem - The days of scrubbing our oven doors to clean them are finally over'

The Oven Door Shield is made in the UK and has patents pending both in the UK and Worldwide, Jaime recently won the '2012 Business Excellence Awards' for 'Young Entrepreneur Award' Jaime O'Connor is one of the few UK/European winners.

You have developed something, you have taken it to market, you have sold it, you have got interest from abroad. You know what, there are times when we don’t invest and we really do wish to see someone become incredibly successful and your one of them.

I don’t feel there is any value that I could add, as you have already done it all, keep going well done.
